Enabling the Console in Half-Life 2 Deathmatch

By default, there's no access to the console when playing HL2DM. To enable it, right-click on Half-Life 2 Deathmatch in the Steam menu and select Properties.  Then click on the Launch Options button.  Enter "-console" (without the quotes) in the options box.  See the following screen shots for an example.

Once the console is enabled, you can hit tilde (~) to bring down the console.  Hit ~ again to get rid of it.

Other Ways

If you're already in the game, you can do

• Options - Keyboard - Advanced
• Check 'enable developer's console'

Or, you can simply add the following line to your config.cfg file:

con_enable "1"
